River Kayaking Trips
Flamingo Paddle <3hrs
dwa 15 • Starting in the Swartkops Nature Reserve and winding our way through the upper reaches of the Swartkops River estuary. You will soon forget the industrial scenes experienced on our way there as we drift with the tides and appreciate the bird life, including large populations of flamingo's. Using the tides to our advantage can make for an easy paddle suitable for beginners of all ages. Cost is R140 pp.
Sunday Paddle >4hrs
dwa 16 • A half day paddle on the Sundays River situated 30km east of Port Elizabeth. Navigating through the Sundays River Valley we will observe the abundant bird life and discuss the fascinating creatures that make up this estuarine eco-system. The trip includes a light lunch and limited refreshments, a full day trip ending off with a braai can be arranged on request. Cost is R200 pp.
Gamtoos Paddle >4hrs
dwa 17 • A half day paddle on the Gamtoos River situated 50km west of Port Elizabeth. Heading up river on this pristine estuary that winds its way through the fertile Gamtoos Valley, we once again appreciate the abundant bird life and indigenous flora so characteristic of all the estuary's in the area. Turning with the tides we'll make our way back to the shifting sand dunes at the mouth. The trip includes a light lunch and limited refreshments, a full day trip ending off with a braai can be arranged on request. Cost is R220 pp.
Custom Estuary Paddle
dwa 18 • Contact us to customize your kayaking trip on any of our local estuary's such as the Kromme River in Cape St Francis, the Kariega River, the Bushman's River, the Keiskamma River or the Kowie River in Port Alfred. Minimum of 3 persons. POA.
Baviaanskloof Kayak Adventure
dwa 4 • Full day - The most spectacular paddle you could possibly experience on freshwater in the Eastern Cape. This exclusive experience will take you deep into this remote wilderness and keep you wondering how come the breathtaking scenery never seems to end. Snaking through sheer cliffs we'll surprise even the most elusive animals as we slip by in silence. We'll spend the morning paddling, break for lunch in a shady kloof in the middle of nowhere and then continue on our journey of exploration. Cost is R385 pp, min of 2.
Baviaanskloof Over-nite Kayak Adventure
dwa 5 • 2 days - An all inclusive adventure that allows for more time to explore this wilderness wonderland, although there will be plenty left over for your return some day. Besides the amazing kayaking experience, you'll enjoy African cuisine under a star scape that will have you contemplating our existence in this galactic infinity. All camping equipment is supplied ( except sleeping bags ), please enquire should you prefer other forms of accomodation although this may limit your time on the water. Cost from R585pp, min of 2.
Note:
All trips include transport ( a/c, 4x4 ), equipment, limited refreshments, light lunch for half day ( 4hrs ), lunch on full days, all meals on multi-day trips, permits and any additional fees, a registered field guide and a great kayaking experience.
